Christopher 2017/2018 Students had previously worked on a branding and identity project which resulted in a personal logo. They modified their logo to adapt to the medium of cookie dough to be used as a promotional item for their business. After creating .svg files of their logo in Illustrator, they imported them into tinkercad and created cookie presses to successfully imprint their logo into the dough.

-
Trey - 2013/2014 Students had access to a vintage collection of magazines from the 1960's and scanned images to isolate and use in a digital collage.
-
CJ - 2015/2016 This project allowed students to break down the elements of an image into basic shapes bringing a deeper awareness to shading and contour. Students were given a link to a video tutorial and used peer support to troubleshoot challenges. Strategies were provided to students to help them with this new experience of learning from video tutorials. Try the tutorial yourself: https://youtu.be/MSAGUhzA-90

2013/2014 This student experimented with the use of different lighting treatments to compose a unique portrait of a friend.
-
Scythe - 2017/2018 Based on the traditional school silhouette project from my childhood, students took photos of themselves and traced them with the pen tool to render an original Illustrator file. Students used this vector as a constraint for their own original digital photography to compose a double image Silhouette to explore the elements of contrast and color palette in design.
-
Danny - 2016/2017 This project is an introduction to the concept of the grid in design. Students gain experience using the selection tools, moving between layers, and applying filters to create unique treatments to an image created by an electron microscope.
-
Trevor - 2014/2015 This particular project was rendered by a 7th grade student who used both found imagery and original scanned objects in thier work.
-
Sam 2013/2014 This student took their self-portrait project one step further by manipulating their image in Photoshop.
-
Josh - 2016/2017 After our unit on designing brand identity systems, our students conceptualized their own brand with corresponding logo, color palette, and website.
-
Bianca - 2015/2016 Students had access to a vintage collection of magazines from the 1960's and scanned images to isolate and use in a digital collage.
-
Daniel - 2012/2013 Using found objects and a scanner, this student layered various scans (aluminum foil and scanned image of face) in Photoshop to create a unique and abstract self portrait.
-
Blake - 2014/2015 The "Best In Show" work of art was the finished product of a student using an online tutorial as a reference to manipulate a found image of a coral reef.
-
Alexia - 2013/2014 This is a double exposure done in post production during a digital photography class. The student layered two original images and explored blending modes as well as other image adjustments.
-
Julian - 2014/2015 Using found imagery, this student gained experience moving between layers and using selection tools to highlight major shapes of a photograph.
-
2015/2016 Students were assigned the task to re-conceptualize their favorite characters from pop culture into 8 or 16 bit versions.
-
Catalina 2013/2014 This is a double exposure done in post-production during a digital photography class. The student layered two original images and explored blending modes as well as other image adjustments.
-
James - 2012/2013 This student used found imagery to compose an original collage in Photoshop.
-
Abi - 2013/2014 This student created this image in our "scavenger hunt" challenge. Students are given words to spark creativity as they direct, compose, and take their photos.

2012 Graphic Designers Tracing photographs of themselves in different poses, these students used the pen tool in Illustrator to capture their essence dependent only on shape. The pen tool remains one of the most powerfull tools to use in the rendering of completely original vector shapes.
-
Danny 2015/2016 This student captured this image during the "One Object Project" where students were challenged to take 25 completely unique photos of only one object.
-
Jack - 2016/2017 This graphic was created by a student during a project where they were challenged to pair images with a quote. As viewers looked at image through different colors of lighting gel, parts of the image would fade or enhance to bring deeper meaning to the quote.
-
Erik - 2016/2017 This particular group of students were incredibly moved by the political climate and chose to, as a group, render many of the canidates with a low poly technique.
